HEBRON, KY (FOX19) -

A Boone County man is in federal custody after being charged with production of child pornography.

According to the affidavit, FBI Special Agents and Task Force Officers executed a federal search warrant of Shawn Mahoney's apartment located in the 2220 block of Flicker Drive in Hebron, Kentucky.

FBI Computer scientist James Murphy conducted a preview of approximately five compact flash cards, which were labeled "Shawn Mahoney Action Imagery" which contained pictures of preteen or teenage females within the Sanctuary Apartment complex that were taken from Mahoney's apartment with high-powered camera lenses, stated the affidavit.

Investigators found evidence that Mahoney set up a hidden camera to record graphic videos of a girl that was 10 to 11 years old. Officials said the girl was unaware that she was being filmed.

During an interview with investigators, Mahoney admitted he enjoyed public voyeurism and images of female child pornography, according to the affidavit.

Court documents revealed that during the execution of the search warrant, agents seized two computers, six laptops, 26 hard drives, two Seagate Hard Drives, one tablet, four thumb drives, two iPods, 23 SD Cards and one cellular phone to be forensically examined.

Officials said Mahoney is set for arraignment December 17.

He faces penalties of no less than 15 years nor more than 30 years imprisonment, $250,000 fine and at least 5 years supervised release, stated officials.
