A man from Cincinnati died after falling at Chimney Top Rock Sunday morning.

According to reports, the Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team was dispatched just after 10:30 a.m. after Tim Amiot, 28, fell after crossing the railing, leaping across the crack to the chimney.

Upon landing on the chimney, officials said Amiot came down hard on his ankle, rolling it which, combined with his momentum, caused him to fall off the end of the chimney and down a 200 ft. cliff.

Officials said he died upon impact.

Responders said officials from Wolfe, Powell, and Menifee Counties responded to the incident, carried Amiot out of the woods and across the Red River.

According to authorities, this was the third fatality at Chimney Top this year.
