Visitors to Paramount Kings Island amusement park will no longer be able to smoke while they walk between rides and food booths. Instead, smokers will be confined to one of 19 designated areas when the reopens this spring. Charlotte, North Carolina-based Paramount Parks is implementing the smoking restrictions at all five of its theme parks. Tim O'Brien is the author of The Amusement Park Guide. He says most parks have banned smoking in restaurants, on rides and in lines. Disney was the first to ban smoking at its parks, followed by Universal Studios and others. O'Brien says the parks are following the trends of society when it comes to smoking restrictions.
