WARREN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

'Skimming' devices on credit card readers in gas pumps were found in Mason and Franklin Township, according to the Warren County Auditor's office.

The devices are placed inside of the credit card reader, and undetectable by customers, at a Jo-Mart and Sunoco. Criminals place the devices in attempts to steal credit and debit card numbers, according to Warren County Auditor Matt Nolan.

TIPS: How to spot ATM skimming devices

“We are urging gas station employees and customers to be extra cautious," said Nolan.

This is not the first crime of this type in the area lately.

In November, skimming devices were found at two different gas stations near Union Centre Boulevard in Butler County. In October, other skimming devices were found on ATM at truck stops along I-71 in Fayette County.

You are asked to contact local police if you see any signs of pumps being tampered with.
