WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal accident involving a dump truck in Whitewater Twp.

Emergency crews were dispatched to U.S. 50 near Kilby Rd. around 2:30 p.m.

Police say Rachel Clapp, 25, was driving behind a 1990 Mack dump truck on westbound U.S. 50 near Lawrenceburg Rd. when the truck came to a stop to wait a train to clear a crossing so the truck could turn into a private drive.

Clapp failed to stop and struck the truck in the rear. She was extricated from her Pontiac G6  and transported to Hooven Elementary School to await AirCare, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Flight doctors pronounced Clapp deceased once AirCare landed.

The drive of the dump truck, James Rowland, 42, was treated at the scene.

Speed, alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to have contributed in the crash, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
