Police: Good Samaritans help nab robbery suspects

ELMWOOD PLACE, OH (FOX19) -

Police credited Good Samaritans with helping to apprehend two store robbery suspects early Thursday.

A man walked into the United Dairy Farmer store in in the 5600 block of Vine Street about 1:15 a.m., argued with the clerk and left, Elmwood Place police said.

He returned wearing a mask and hooded sweatshirt, climbed behind the counter and grabbed a bunch of cigarettes, police said. He was not armed.

The suspect ran outside, got into a box truck and was driven away by a woman, according to police.

Two tow truck drivers saw that happened, began following the truck and called 911.

Police said they stopped the box truck on North Bend Road in neighboring Springfield Township

The man and woman were taken into custody.
