Police seek public's help to ID Family Dollar robbery suspect

GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) – -

Police are seeking the public's help as they work to identify a suspect in an armed robbery at Family Dollar, 5449 North Bend Rd.

A man walked into the store and pointed what was described as a long silver handgun at one of the employees just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said in a prepared statement.

While holding the employee at gunpoint, the suspect demanded a second employee remove the money from the safe and cash register. Two employees inside were not hurt.

The suspect left, heading northbound on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

A Green Township police K-9 unit responded and unsuccessfully attempted to follow the suspect's trail.

The man is described as black, about 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds with a full, groomed beard.

He wore a black jacket over a purple hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, and black and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers: 513-352-3040.
