A trade agreement is "in place" that would send Brandon Phillips to the Washington Nationals, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Phillips has 10-5 rights which means he could reject any potential trade. Rosenthal states that a financial adjustment would be required for the second baseman to accept the trade.

At this time a trade has not been officially announced.

Traded speculation heated up Thursday night when Phillips tweeted out "513 to 202 #PapaPope #OnDeck."

202 is the area code for Washington D.C.

The three-time All-Star has played 10 seasons for the Cincinnati Reds after being traded over from the Cleveland Indians for Jeff Stevens.

During his time with Cincinnati the second baseman won four Gold Glove Awards (2008,'10,'11,'13) and a Silver Slugger Award in 2011.

Phillips, 34, has a .273 average, .320 on-base percentage and 186 home runs in his 14-year career.  In 2015, Phillips hit .294, with 70 RBIs and 12 home runs.

He is due $27 million over the next two seasons ($13 million in 2016 and $14 million in 2017).

On Wednesday, the Reds traded All-Star third baseman Todd Frazier for three prospects, including second baseman Jose Peraza. Peraza, 21, is now the highest ranked prospect in the Reds' organization, according to MLB.com. He would be the heir-apparent if Phillips were to be traded.
