NWS: EF-1 tornado moved through Pendleton Co. Wednesday night

The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado moved through Pendleton County Wednesday night.

The tornado touched down south of Butler, Ky. around 8:11 p.m. and traveled an estimated 3.75 miles before lifting at 8:20 p.m., according NWS. Damage of the tornado was first observed north of the intersection of S.R. 27 and Bethel Lane. 

Officials say the twister caused a mobile home to be blown down a hillside, barns roofs were blown off and trees with an 18-inch or better diameter were snapped.

Three people suffered minor injuries, according to NWS.

NWS estimates that the maximum speed of the tornado was 87 mph. The Fujita Scale classifies an EF-1 tornado between 86 to 110 mph.
