CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Backup quarterback AJ McCarron is listed as day-to-day after suffering a wrist injury in Monday night's loss against the Denver Broncos, according to Bengals.com.

Sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that a MRI revealed McCarron suffered a sprained wrist on his non-throwing arm. Rapoport tweeted however while there's no fracture, the sprain is "significant."

The Bengals have not said if McCarron will start Sunday.

McCarron hurt his wrist on the last play in overtime, when he tried to recover his fumble after a mishandled a shot-gun snap.

McCarron finished the game 22-of-35 with 200 yards and a touchdown in the loss Sunday.

He's been filling in for Andy Dalton, who fractured his thumb against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Dec. 13. He's listed as week-to-week, according to the Bengals.

While the Bengals have clinched the AFC North, they’d get a first-round playoff bye if they win Sunday and the Broncos lose to the Chargers.
