CINCINNATI (FOX19) -

Matthew 25 Ministries is now on the ground in northeast Texas after tornadoes swept through the Dallas-Fort Worth area last weekend.

The disaster response team left Sunday to help those in need.

The group took several vehicles loaded with relief supplies like personal kits, first aid, and paper products.

The National Weather Service reports that the death toll has risen to 11, and at least 600 structures have been damaged or destroyed in the area.

Matthew 25 Ministries officials say they hope to restore some small part of the families affected sense of normalcy.

On Wednesday, the team washed laundry and went into neighborhoods to distribute aid.

That will continue 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday. The team also will distribute products in neighborhoods near Shrade and Miller roads.

The organization is accepting donations to aid tornado victims in Texas.
