LYNCHBURG, OH (FOX19) -

All Police Officers and Command Staff in the Lynchburg Police Department have been laid off, according to the department's Facebook page

The Village of Lynchburg lists the Highland County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol under the police tab on the Village's website.

"As of 4:00 p.m. today, all Police Officers and Command Staff have been laid off, per Mayor Burden," the department's Facebook page reads. "Thank you for the time we were given. God bless, be safe, and have a great 2016!"

According to Council Member Marty Bailey, Mayor Burden will hold a meeting this Tuesday night to announce a new law enforcement plan.

Bailey tells FOX19 NOW that the Highland County Sheriff's Department will cover the Village of Lynchburg until the new plan goes into effect.
