Courtroom High Emotions During Sentencing

Courtroom High emotions during Scott Peterson sentencing

Some heated words during Scott Peterson's sentencing for the murders of his wife and unborn son. Laci Peterson's brother, Brent Rocha, gave a victim impact statement, saying, "Laci and Conner are the true victims here." He then asked Peterson, "Did you really hate Laci and Conner that much or did you just dislike yourself?" Peterson's mother interrupted, but was inaudible. Her husband, Lee, was not. He yelled, "What a liar!" and left the courtroom.

Laci's mother, Sharon Rocha, sobbed and trembled during her statement. She said to Scott, "You decided to throw Laci and Conner away, dispose of them like they were just a piece of garbage. You were wrong; dead wrong." She also called her son-in-law "an evil murderer."

Peterson's parents wanted to speak, but the judge said no. Scott Peterson declined to speak.

Scott Peterson has been sentenced to death.
