MIAMI TOWNSHIP, HAMILTON COUNTY (FOX19 NOW) -

Five people have been transported to an area hospital after a boiler explosion at the Crossroads Church in Miami Township, Hamilton County, officials confirm to FOX19 NOW.

The explosion occurred around 3 p.m. at the Bridgetown Rd location, Crossroads spokesperson Jen Sperry said.

Two service techs were working on the boiler at the time of the explosion. They suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries, according to Sperry. Three Crossroads employees were taken to the hospital for evaluation, Crossroads confirmed.

"Join us in praying for two service techs and three staff members injured in an accident at Crossroads West Side," the church wrote on its Facebook page.

The explosion blew out a couple of windows and the building is currently shut down as crews investigate, Sperry said. The State of Ohio Fire Marshal has been called to help with the investigation.

Crossroads said on its Facebook page that the church is hoping to have regular services this weekend.
