A man was arrested Monday by the Hamilton County Heroin Coalition Taskforce (HCHCTF) in connection with the apparent overdose death of a Clermont County man.

After the man was discovered deceased in his residence in July, the case was referred to the HCHCTF.

Officials said the initial investigation revealed the deadly heroin/fentanyl mixture was sold by a heroin dealer in Bond Hill.

The accused dealer, John Wade, 45, was arrested on two counts of trafficking in Schedule I (heroin) and Schedule II (fentanyl), according to a police release. Police also obtained a search warrant at Wade’s residence in the 4800 block of Corinth Ave.

His charges are pending in the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio.

The HCHCTF worked in cooperation with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Drug Enforcement Administration, Cincinnati Police Department, and Union Township Police Department to arrest Wade.

The HCHCTF was created by the Hamilton County Association of Chiefs of Police in 2015, to initiate an immediate and focused investigation which targets the source dealer of the heroin that results in overdoses and overdose deaths.
