HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

The Hamilton County Republican Party is calling for Colerain Township trustee Greg Insco to resign for allegedly faking an endorsement.

Insco's being accused of sending out fake sample ballots that called him an officially endorsed Republican.

He ended up winning the seat, but the GOP says they never endorsed him leading to more than a dozen complaints from Colerain Township voters.

"This isn't Republican or Democrat, this just goes to the very integrity of the process when voters go to the polling places and they see an endorsement from one of the political parties, they ought to know that it's authentic, and if it's not authentic then they end up confused," said Alex Triantafilou, chairman of the Hamilton County GOP.

The party is calling on the Ohio Elections Committee to take further action.
