Snow hits as morning commute begins

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for most of the Tri-State until 7 p.m. Wednesday with 1-2 inches of snow expected.

Snow showers are falling with roads already lightly covered. The snow will cause roads to be slick and easily ice over due to extremely cold pavement temperatures.

The morning low is expected to plunge to 13 degrees.

It's 18 degrees with a wind chill of 7 at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

This system is all about timing and not amounts, with the heaviest expected during the heart of the morning commute between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.

LIST: Some school delays and cancellations already are coming in.

Most of the accumulating snow should end by 11 a.m. with 1-2 inches of accumulation.

Some isolated areas could see up to 3.5 inches.

This afternoon, expect some blowing snow as temperatures reach a high of 28 degrees.

We will remain dry tonight with lows in the mid-20s and Thursday with a high of 33 degrees.

Stay weather aware for Thursday night into Friday. Another system could bring some significant snow amounts to parts of our region, especially our southern areas.

This is a tricky one with an uncertain track. We will keep a watchful eye as it approaches.
