Police: Mom OD's on heroin, flips car carrying sons

GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Officials are investigating a rollover crash involving a driver who overdosed on heroin while traveling with her two children Friday. 

According to officials, Amanda Gordon, 27, was operating a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina westbound on I-74 near the Race Road overpass along with Clayford Wilson, 27, and her her 8-year-old and 10-year-old sons. 

Reports showed Gordon told investigators she purchased heroin and injected it with Wilson near the Beekman Street exit ramp to I-74. 

After injecting the heroin, Gordon began driving back towards Indiana and experienced a heroin overdose and exited off the right side of the highway, according to authorities. 

Gordon's vehicle reportedly struck trees on the right side of the roadway and rolled onto its top ejecting Wilson and partially ejecting herself. Both children were seat belted during the crash and not injured. 

The Green Township Fire Department responded to the scene and administered NARCAN to both Ms. Gordon and Mr. Wilson.  Both were then transported to University Medical Center for evaluation of injuries sustained in the crash.  The two juvenile males were released to their grandmother after notification to Child Protective Services in Dearborn County Indiana. 

Officials said Gordon was charged with possession of heroin, two counts of Child Endangering, OVI, driving without a a license, failure to maintain control, not wearing a seat belt and possessing drug abuse instruments. She's also been ordered to stay away from her two sons.

Gordon's being held at the Hamilton Coutny Justice Center on a $175,000 bond. 

Wilson was charged with not wearing his seat belt and also had an outstanding felony out of Dearborn County for OVI.
