Man found dead after alleged domestic disturbance call

Homicide detectives said a man was found dead shortly after police were called to a house for a domestic disturbance call.

Officers responded to an apartment on Lyness Ave. near Morgans Way in Harrison Sunday morning where they found the man dead, Harrison Police confirm.

A 911 call was made after an alleged disturbance at the home.

"There is this little girl there that I actually know," a woman told 911 dispatchers. "She's getting her a-- kicked right now."

"The guy's out there acting like a psychopath," stated the caller. "We just went upstairs to try to see if we could help her and he answered the door all bloody."

Police said they are waiting for the coroner's office to rule whether the man's shooting death was a homicide or suicide.

A neighbor told FOX19 NOW he was never really concerned.

"We really haven't had any incidents like that," he said. "I mean they've had a person talkin about a baseball bat, and goin' at 'em with a tire tool, but they never did anything to each other. And I've been with them sporadically and I really didn't think it was anything to be concerned about or worried."

Officials said the victim was a male in his early 20's.

FOX19 NOW will update this story as further details become available.
