MILFORD, OH (FOX19) -

Funeral services begin Wednesday for the 16-year-old Milford High School student who was killed a two-vehicle crash on Glendale-Milford Road over the weekend.

Visitation for Lauren Wilfong will be  5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at John H. Evans Funeral Home in Milford.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew Church, also in Milford.

According to Evans Funeral Home website, the family requests memorials to League for Animal Welfare, 4193 Taylor Road, Batavia OH 45103.

Wilfong was traveling southbound on Glendale-Milford Road in a 2006 Toyota Solara when the vehicle ran off the right side, over-corrected, crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2015 Toyota Sequoia just after 6 p.m., patrol officials said in a prepared statement.

The high school junior was pronounced dead at Bethesda North Hospital. She was not wearing a seatbelt, troopers have said.

The driver of the Toyota, Terrence Howe, 57, of Terrace Park, was not hurt, they said.

The crash remains under investigation.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash, troopers said.

"The Patrol reminds motorists to do their part in keeping roadways safe by always buckling up, never drive distracted and never driving impaired," troopers said in the prepared statement.

Milford High School Principal Josh Kauffman described Wilfong as "a fine student."

“She was a fine representation of what Milford High School is all about," he said. "It’s a tragic loss and right now our focus is on supporting Lauren’s family and our school community as we work through this tragedy."
