Family Dollar robbed at gunpoint in Green Township

Authorities said they are searching for a masked gunman robbed Family Dollar on Colerain Avenue Sunday.

A man with a white scarf covering his face walked into the business and pointed a handgun at one of the employees just before 9 p.m., according to a prepared statement from Green Township police and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

While holding the employee at gunpoint, the suspect demanded the employee remove the money from the safe.

The suspect ran out of the store and was last seen heading north on Colerain Avenue with an undisclosed amount of money.

He is described as black and about five-foot-six to five-foot-seven with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, possibly with the number “13” on the front, dark pants, and white tennis shoes.

Two employees who were inside the store at the time of the offense were not hurt.

Police and sheriff's officials are still investigating the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
