Driver indicted in fatal 2015 crash

SPRINGFIELD TWP, OH (FOX19) - A motorist was indicted this week in a fatal crash last summer.

A warrant was issued Tuesday for James Williams, 44, on two felony counts of aggravated vehicular homicide after driving under the influence of alcohol, said Triffon Callos, spokesman for the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office.

He also faces two charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them.

He was not in custody as of Wednesday morning, Callos said.

Williams' passenger, Jaytwan Smith, 33, died when Williams' sport utility vehicle plunged off an overpass on eastbound Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway at the intersection of Caldwell Drive between Interstate 75 and Galbraith Road on June 22, Callos said.

The crash closed the highway for just over three hours.
