Cincinnati police officer indicted on felony charge

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A Cincinnati police officer is suspended without pay after he was indicted on a felony theft in office charge Wednesday.

Joseph Simpson, 40, a police officer from Cincinnati's 5th district, was indicted after an incident that occurred while he was working an off duty restaurant detail on Dec. 27, according to City Manager Harry Black.  

Black announced Wednesday that Cincinnati police suspended Simpson without pay status pending the outcome of the criminal prosecution.
