MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

The woman charged in connection with the death of her 2-year-old daughter gave birth to a son on Monday.

Rebekah Kinner is back in jail after the birth of her child, according to Maj. Michael Craft with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. It is unknown who has custody of the newborn.

Kinner, 23, was pregnant when Butler County officials charged her with involuntary manslaughter, endangering children and child abuse in December.

Officials allege Kinner’s boyfriend beat 2-year-old Kinsley so badly she had no brain activity. Bradley Young, 27, has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge.

"Rebecca Kinner stated that she watched her boyfriend (Brad Young) shook and punched her two-year-old daughter in the head multiple times the day before she stopped breathing. Rebecca made no attempt to come to her defense,” a criminal complaint states.

Kinsley’s father, Scott Senft, claims he is also fathered the newborn boy. Senft said he has not been permitted to see the child.
