Police search for suspects in armed home invasion robbery

COVINGTON, KENTUCKY (FOX19) - Two suspects are at large after a report of an armed home invasion robbery followed by a police chase early Wednesday, according to dispatchers in Kenton and Hamilton counties.

Two men fled a reported home invasion robbery on Todd Court in the City Heights apartment complex in Covington about 5:30 a.m., Kenton County dispatchers said.

A handgun was displayed, but no injuries were immediately reported, they said.

The suspects took off in a black Chevy Cruze with a Kentucky license plate and traveled north on Interstate 471 to I-71 over the Ohio River into Cincinnati, where they exited the highway onto northbound Dorchester Avenue in Mt. Auburn, dispatchers said.

Covington police cut off the chase off at 5:41 a.m. once it reached the state of Ohio, they said.

The home invasion robbery remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Covington police declined comment early Wednesday, saying Assistant Police Chief Brian Steffen would release more information later in the morning.
