FOX19 - This recipe from Velvet Smoke BBQ is a twist on the classic Super Bowl favorite: Chicken wings.
Easy at-home Asian Glazed Smoked Chicken Wings
Makes 12 to 15 large "party" or split wings.
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon kosher salt (or smoked sea salt)
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1 cup hoisin sauce
1/2 cup apple cider or rice vinegar
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Rinse chicken wings and pat dry w/ paper towels. Place wings in bowl, add & toss with seasoning (you will not use all) until evenly coated.
Place seasoned wings on an oiled baking sheet so they are not touching and place in oven. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes flipping wings after about 20 minutes. Internal temp of wing should be 185 degrees.
While wings are baking whisk sauce ingredients together and set aside. Fresh out of the oven transfer cooked wings in a large clean bowl and add enough sauce to cover. Toss wings with tongs until evenly coated. Add more sauce if needed. Transfer to seeing platter and enjoy!
