Laissez les bons temps roulez! Or rather, “Let the good times roll!”

You don’t have to head to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras. The FOX19 NOW team compiled a list of Fat Tuesday events and specials happening near you.

Mardi Gras: MainStrasse-Style

The MainStrasse Village in Covington, Ky., celebrates “the Year of the Monkey” in Cajun style. The night will feature a bar hop through the village with gumbo, Hurricane drinks and bead necklaces. Don’t miss out on the Grande Parade Saturday, Feb. 6 at 9 p.m. The weekend celebration kicks off Friday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. and goes through Feb. 7 until 2 a.m. No cover charge.

The Voodoo Carnival Mardi Gras Masquerade

The Southgate House Revival will house the sixth annual Mardi Gras Masquerade. The night will feature plenty of jazz and performances from acts like “1936 North American Heat Wave” and “Blue Heron Trio.” The Picked Brothers Circus will bring the heat with juggling, sword swallowing, fire-eating and even laying on a bed of nails.

Tickets range from $15 to $20 and can be bought here.

Servatii Pastry Shop & Deli

Satiate your need for sweets on Fat Tuesday with one of Cincinnati’s great sweet traditions. All 13 Servatii locations offer a variety of specialty items including Mardi Gras themed “Smiley Face” cookies and three different sizes of King Cakes. King Cakes come in both cinnamon flavor and another type filled with cream cheese. Servatii also offers Paczki, a donut-like Polish treat, which started as a Lenten tradition in Europe.

Servatii will serve specialty Mardi Gras treats until Fat Tuesday.

Live from New Riff Distillery: A Bourbon Street Buffett with Music from The Hot Magnolias

The New Riff Distillery, in Newport, Ky., will feature a pop-up dinner, music and dancing to ring in Fat Tuesday. Prepared by Chef Renee Schuler, celebrators will enjoy a New Orleans inspired dining experience featuring everything from crab cakes and muffuletta skewers to southern greens, jambalaya, cream biscuits and King Cake bites. The Hot Magnolias, a Cincinnati-based jazz-style band, will play throughout the evening.

The event is Tuesday, Feb. 9, 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. – charges $75 and includes dinner and five drink tickets. Learn more here.

Dee Felice Café

If you’re heading to the bar hop at MainStrasse Village, make a pit stop at local restaurant Dee Felice. “We do Mardi Gras every single day,” says Shelly Defelice-Nelson, one of the café owners. This restaurant touts classic New Orleans décor, traditional Creole and Cajun food, and jazz music. Defelice-Nelson says the café serves “hot and spicy comfort foods” that are perfect to warm up customers during cold weather.

Dee Felice is located at 529 Main St. in Covington, and offers several food and drink specials.

Mardi Gras on Madison

Mardi Gras on Madison started out as one food truck serving authentic Louisiana cooking. Now with a store location at 1524 Madison, Fat Tuesday enthusiasts can enjoy a special food event on Feb. 9. The night includes a live brass band featuring Mike Wade, a crawfish boil, authentic King Cakes, beads and an assortment of Abita beer.

The event is RSVP only and cost $35 per person. Doors open at 6 p.m.
