MADISONVILLE, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati fire officials said a two-alarm house fire displaced four residents early Monday.

Crews were called to a 7:30 a.m. report of smoke showing from the second floor of a residence in the 6500 block of Palmetto Street.

The resident safely evacuated before fire crews arrived. Firefighters upgraded the incident to two alarms, which sent more crews to help.

It took about 15 minutes for them to knock down the bulk of the blaze, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The family said the fire started in the basement, but they are not sure exactly what caused it.

Damage was set at $50,000.

The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.
