FOX19 -

Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants are offering a raincheck for a free burrito after the chain closed for a few hours during lunchtime Monday.

This is not a drill.

All you have to do to redeem this offer is text the word “raincheck” to 888-222. They’ll text you back with a coupon for a free burrito within the next few days. The offer ends Monday at 6 p.m.

The move comes after the popular chain closed all locations for four hours to hold a a company-wide food safety meeting.  Chipotle reopened their doors at 3 p.m. local time.

Company officials said the meeting was to go over the improved "farm-to-fork" food safety program, which the chain implemented in January.

Customers in several states reported getting sick after eating at Chipotle restaurants in two outbreaks, the latest of which started in December of last year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. No deaths have been reported.
