WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) - A 13-year-old was reportedly taken into custody after a police chase that ended with a cab car busted up. Police tell FOX 19 Now the teen stole the vehicle from the cab driver using a BB gun.
FOX19 NOW was able to exclusively secure a picture that illustrates how the BB gun used appeared to be a real gun. The officer said the victim thought the gun was real.
Officials said the cab was stolen from a gas station in the 2400 block of Harrison in Westwood. The owner of the cab company told FOX19 NOW the female driver is disabled and uses a walker.
He said the suspect got the wheel chair out of the cab before taking off with the vehicle.
It's been reported that the teen hit a few cars before finally coming to a stop after being chased by police.
The vehicle was picked up on State in Fairmount a short time after it was stolen, according to authorities.
Police tell FOX19 NOW the teen was involved in two robberies yesterday although it's unclear if they were auto robberies or not.
All this comes just about a week after Mayor John Cranley said he wants to have Cincinnati Police's Gang Unit to work more on violent crime in the Westwood community.
The teen was apprehended by gang unit officers.
