GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati Police say at least one suspect is in custody after a pursuit and crash in Green Township Monday morning.

A suspect stole a vehicle from the Walt Sweeney dealership around 3 a.m., according to officials. Police followed the vehicle to Sidney Road near Townsend where it hit a utility pole, caught fire and brought down electric wires.

“The live electric wires were arcing in the street, on the car, in the yard of a nearby house,” said Green Township officials in Facebook post. “The car had also caught fire, and the occupants had fled. After Duke Energy arrived to cut the electric, firefighters extinguished the car fire.”

Police eventually caught up with the suspects and arrested at least one person.

The roadway was shut down for several hours and has since reopened.
