OVER-THE-RHINE, OH (FOX19 NOW) -

A nearly seven-decade-old Over-The-Rhine restaurant that nearly was destroyed by a fire last year will reopen in the summer of 2016.

Tucker's Restaurant, established in 1946, is tentatively scheduled to reopen on July 25, nearly one year to date after the fire engulfed the diner, according to a Facebook post

A brunch fundraiser for the popular the Vine Street establishment will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Francis Seraph School on East Liberty Street. For $15 per person, diners can get some of their favorite brunch dishes from the restaurant, including biscuits and gravy and deluxe homefries. Contributions support the rebuilding and reopening of Tucker's.

In addition, a GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $17,000 toward repair costs.

"I knew there would be a few people wanting to help us but I didn't know it was going to be that big of an outpour. It's very humbling,” said Joe Tucker.
