Reds spring training starts Thursday

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Reds fans, let the countdown begin! Opening Day on April 4 is only 47 days away.

On Thursday, Cincinnati Reds pitchers and catchers report to the Reds Spring Training Complex in Goodyear, Arizona, where they’ll remain for the next several weeks to prepare for the upcoming season.

The first spring training game is March 1 against Cleveland at Goodyear Ballpark.

Along with the new season comes a bunch of new features in regards to ticketing and the Hall of Fame.

This year, fans will get the chance to participate in “Pete Rose Weekend” June 24-June 26.

June 24 will be spent celebrating the 40th anniversary of the 1976 World Series with throwback uniforms and the ’76 team will also be honored during pregame ceremonies.

On-field ceremonies the next day will include inducting Pete Rose into the Reds Hall of Fame.

On June 26, a Pete Rose Number 14 retirement ceremony will be held.

The best way for fans to guarantee tickets to all three Hall of Fame Induction Weekend games is with the PICK-6 PLAN.

Pick any six regular season home games (excluding Opening Day) and receive a Joey Votto 30-inch Louisville Slugger bat.

The PICK 6 allows fans to choose (excluding Opening Day) to customize your plan, including Reds Hall of Fame Induction Weekend honoring Pete Rose, June 24-26.

Save up to 25 percent with a Pick-6 Plan instead of buying your games individually.
