A medical helicopter responded to a serious injury crash on Roosevelt Boulevard near University Boulevard late Wednesday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
A 2007 Buick Lacross driven by 27-year-old Adrean K Spencer of Middletown was northbound on University Blvd when he lost control while attempting to negotiate the one lane ramp to Roosevelt Boulevard, troopers said in a prepared statement.
The vehicle drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a power pole, they said.
Spencer was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted by the Middletown Fire Department.
Care Flight flew him to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
His condition was not available.
The road was shut down for about two hours.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
