Police training expert talks officer-involved shootings

Gene Ferrara is a retired Director of Public Safety and Police Chief of the University of Cincinnati. During his career at UC, Ferrara was responsible for all law enforcement, security, fire and environmental safety. 

Ferrara's instructional expertise includes firearms, operational planning, officer survival techniques and Executive/VP Protection, according to the Executive Protection Institute.

He has organized, coordinated and participated in training programs throughout the nation on a wide variety of police and security issues. 

FOX19 NOW's Tricia Macke talked with Ferrera about protocols police use in officer-involved shootings.
