Cincinnati, OH (AP, FOX19) - Interstate 75 is a major artery running northbound and southbound through six states from Michigan to Florida.
The state patrol in all six states has created a 6-State Trooper Project, they will be focusing on cracking down on speed, safety belt and OVI violations on I-75 this weekend.
The State Patrol will be out in full force starting Friday through Sunday night at 11:59 p.m.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol alone reported over 14,000 OVI-related crashes last year, killing 390 people. This total accounted for 35% of all
the fatal crashes in the state of Ohio alone.
The 6-State Trooper Project is aimed at helping cut down on these crashes and saving lives. They feel that coordinating their efforts in law enforcement and security services will help save lives on Interstate 75, including Ohio and Kentucky.
