Man killed in I-275 crash identified

FORT THOMAS, KY (FOX19) -

Fort Thomas Police have released the names of three people involved in a fatal crash on I-275 Monday.

Michael Gilliam, of Cincinnati, Amanda Thomas, of Bethel, Billy Jones, of Bethel, and a 7-month-old boy were in the vehicle when the driver lost control flipped in the eastern lanes near the Ohio border.

Gilliam was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fort Thomas Police are working to determine who was driving the vehicle.

Drugs and speed are factors in the crash. Police say needles were found at the scene and one victim had tracks marks on their body.

Thomas and the 7-month-old were transported to the hospital with critical injuries. The boy remains at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

Jones suffered minor injuries.

The crash snarled traffic on eastbound I-275 and Interstate 471 for close to three hours.

Fort Thomas Police say the investigation is ongoing and more information will be released once it becomes available.
