CINCINNATI (FOX19) - A new Quinnipiac University poll shows that even in Ohio, Donald Trump is on top for Republican voters.
In his home state, Ohio Gov. John Kasich polled at 26 percent among Republicans - five points below front-runner Donald Trump.
Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is next in line at 21 percent and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida is at 13 percent.
"A Kasich Ohio win is crucial to the Republicans trying to stop the New York businessman's nomination," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. "If Trump can defeat Kasich in his home state, that would be an impressive demonstration of his strength."
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton leads Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont 55 – 40 percent among Ohio likely Democratic primary voters, the poll indicates.
Ohio voters will have the chance to help decide the races for their party's presidential nominee on March 15.
