LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - An inmate beaten to death at a state prison in southwest Ohio was struck multiple times in the head with a concrete block, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Luther Wade, 26, was beaten Tuesday at Lebanon Correctional Institution, a patrol report shows.
Wade was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Warren County Coroner's Office.
The report says another inmate is considered a "person of interest" in the Springfield man's slaying.
No charges were immediately filed, and the other inmate wasn't immediately identified.
Warren County coroner's investigator Doyle Burke says Wade's death resulted from multiple blunt force trauma.
Wade was serving 10 years on an aggravated burglary conviction from Clark County, prison officials said earlier this week. He arrived at the prison in March 2015.
A motive in the slaying has not been disclosed.
