UNION, KY (FOX19) -

We’re on a mission to help kids and we need your help.  Dan Wells writing, I hope this note finds you well and in good spirits.

Over the next several months not only is it my job, but also my HOPE to make St. Jude as real to you as it has become to me. FOX19 NOW is yet again partnering with the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, and tickets are now on sale. Click here to purchase tickets.

They cost $100 each for the chance to win the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway house and other prizes valued at $1,000 or more.

Cancer is the number one cause of death by disease for children 14 and younger in the United States. That statistic is the reason St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis exists.

Its founder, late actor Danny Thomas, made it his mission to create a facility dedicated to children and saving their lives. Through intense research and new treatment protocols, they are winning that fight, curing all kinds of cancers. Since St. Jude opened in 1962, the survival rate for leukemia, the most common form of cancer, is now at 94 percent, up from just four percent. While St. Jude in Memphis treats the most serious cases, patients can also get care at affiliates located around the country.

At first, $100 dollars sounded like a lot to me...but, now...not so difficult. $100 give you a chance to win the St. Jude Dream Home.

Now that I've met real people, and lives, and families that are associated with each ticket, a hundred bucks seems pretty simple.

The 2016 home is located in Union, Kentucky.

Inspired by Old World Ireland, Ballyshannon is set in the beautiful green hills of Boone County. It's convenient to Florence Mall, Boone County Public Library Scheben Branch and shopping and dining on US 42. It's also close to several parks including Orleans Park, Boone County Arboretum and Camp Ernst Lake.

Future planned amenities at Ballyshannon include a swimming pool, splash pool, cabana, outdoor living, playground and walking bike paths.

The frame is going up. Concrete is poured. It's looking more and more like a home and it can be yours!  It's easy. All you have to do is buy a ticket. They go on sale March 10th.  Until we draw the lucky ticket for the new home owner, I'll continue to bring you updates and introduce you to families whose lives could be impacted by your donation.

Thank you,
Dan Wells
