Missing EMT worker charged with stealing $106K now in jail

AURORA, IN (FOX19) - The missing EMT worker charged with stealing over $100 thousand from Emergency Rescue Inc. is now in the Dearborn County jail, FOX19 NOW has confirmed.

Craig Whitham, who had been missing since Feb. 22, was charged earlier this month by the Dearborn County Circuit Court.

Prosecutor Aaron Negangard told FOX19 NOW Whitham took more than $106,000 and is now charged with felony theft.

Just two days after Whitham went missing, prosecutors went to court seeking bank records. He is the treasurer for the organization.

Whitham's family told FOX19 NOW that he has worked as an EMT for 20 years and is currently an employee at Aurora Emergency Rescue.

"We are really worried because he is a responsible, reliable person and this is not like him," Whitham's cousin Angel Adams told FOX19 NOW back in February.

The EMT worker left in February with only his ID and credit cards according to family.
