BOONE CO., KY (FOX19) -

The first Republican caucus is dealing with traffic problems in Boone County due to the long lines.

Boone County Republican Chair, Phyllis Sparks, tells Fox19 NOW that the Boone County Sheriff has been called to the scene to help better direct traffic on Mt. Zion Road and 71/75 South near the Mt. Zion exit.

She says the sheriff will assign more Boone County Sheriff deputies to direct traffic.

Sparks adds while they were prepared for long lines outside the Florence Baptist Church, the traffic problems were unforeseen, but they are trying to fix the issues immediately.
