Cincinnati college basketball teams look to advance

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati is a college basketball town.

The University of Cincinnati men's basketball team had a huge 61-54 home win over number 24 ranked S-M-U in the regular season finale Sunday.

It was UC's first win over a ranked team in five tries this season.

Moving forward, Cincinnati clinched the fourth seed in the upcoming AAC tournament in Orlando. The team will play fifth-seeded Connecticut at 2 p.m. Friday.

Meanwhile, in Evanston, Xavier wrapped up one of the best regular seasons in program history with a 98-93 win over Creighton Saturday.

The Musketeers team is seeded second in the Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden.

They will play at 7 p.m. Thursday.
