WILMINGTON, OH (FOX19) - Amazon is expanding its delivery network to the sky in a deal that will base 20 Boeing aircraft out of Ohio.
Wilmington-based Air Transport Services announced Wednesday that it will operate an air cargo network for the online retailer.
The move will support one and two-day delivery to customers, Amazon reps say.
The commercial agreements include the leasing of 20 Boeing 767 freighter aircraft to Amazon Fulfillment Services over a five to seven year period.
Air Transport Services has been working with Amazon on the cargo network since last summer, according to Joe Hete, President and CEO of ATSG.
