HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil now says his decision to attend the Donald Trump town hall on Sunday was "selfish."
Neil, running on the Democratic ticket, apologized and said he would be voting for a Democrat in Tuesday's primary. The Hamilton County sheriff was sitting behind Trump during the town hall in West Chester.
"I apologize to the other democrats that are going to be sharing the ballot with Jim Neil," the sheriff said on Monday in a press conference. "It was selfish on my part to not think of therm when I attended this rally."
Neil said in the press conference that he attended the Trump town hall to show his appreciation for Trump's support of law enforcement.
