Residents were evacuated from an apartment building after a small fire overnight, Cincinnati fire officials said.
Firefighters responded for a report of a working fire in a three-story, multi-family residence in the 4500 block of Reading Road just after midnight Monday, according to a prepared statement.
Upon arrival, they found fire in two basement-level laundry room storage lockers.
After an aggressive interior attack, the fire was extinguished within 10 minutes.
All occupants of the apartment complex self-evacuated prior to fire department arrival except for an elderly tenant on the third floor. He was sheltered in place, accompanied by firefighters, until conditions allowed for him to exit down the interior steps.
The cause of fire is undetermined and remains under investigation.
