CAMPBELL COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

A 14-year-old is in police custody after making a fake threat against the Campbell County Middle School Monday morning, according to Alexandria Police.

A school resource officer received a verbal threat around 10:30 a.m. Police said students and staff were transported to the high school building as a precaution.

“Police and Bomb Squad personnel determined that everything was clear and the threat was not real,” read a statement from police.

Students returned to class around 11:30 a.m.

“Please know all students are accounted for and are safe to remain at school for the remainder of the day,” said Connie Pohlgeers, Director of School Improvement and Community Education.

It is not clear if the underage suspect will face charges.
