Living will software sales surge with Schiavo case at forefront
The debate over the Terri Schiavo controversy is credited with generating a sharp increase in sales of computer software to create living wills. The makers of Quicken WillMaker-Plus 2005 say they've never seen such high sales. WillMaker-Plus sales rose 63 percent in the five days after March 18th, the day Schiavo's feeding tube was removed, compared to the prior five days. And a spokesman for H-and-R Block says sales of the company's WILLPower program jumped 95 percent last week. Other software makers also reported spikes in sales.
