CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The numbers are looking good this year for this year's Flying Pig Marathon.
In the most recent numbers released, overall registration is up 17 percent. Registration for the May 1 marathon is up nine percent.
Organizers say registration could close out.
This has happened only one other time in its 18 year history. That was the year of the Boston marathon bombings, when many people registered to run in solidarity for the victims.
A record 33,852 people took part in 2013.
The Bockfest 5K is already sold out, but there are a number of events that weekend still open.
The weekend isn't just for runners, 150,000 spectators are expected to take part cheering participants throughout the Queen City.
More than 125 charities use the marathon as a fundraiser.
