Commentator Pat Buchanan has had a bit of a dressing-down. The former presidential candidate cut short an appearance in Michigan last night, after an opponent of his conservative views doused him with salad dressing. The demonstrator shouted "Stop the bigotry!" as he threw the liquid during a program at Western Michigan University. After being hit, Buchanan cut short his question-and-answer session, and told the audience, "Thank you all for coming, but I'm going to have to get my hair washed." Police say they've charged a 24-year-old student with disturbing the peace. They say he could have faced a felony assault charge, but Buchanan decided not to press charges.
